The linguine owes its black color to the added squid ink. Squid ink not only affects the color, it also gives the pasta a shellfish taste. Most squid ink pastas lose color during cooking but unlike other squind ink pastas, Linguine al Nero di Seppia is made without egg and therefore it will always keep that gorgeous and intense black color.
Ingredients
durum WHEAT semolina, water, WHEAT germ (3,4%) (Italy), black SQUID ink (0,8%).

Someone tossed a bag of Linguine al Nero di Seppia on the store shelf at Whole Foods. It was familiar to something I had purchased from another brand online which can't keep in stock or replenish enough. Grabbing it off the shelf I hoped it wouldn't be a waste of money to try with olive oil, spaghetti and chicken meatballs, chicken and broccoli, etc. This was simply delicious to rebuy but Whole Foods had not restocked for weeks. So, I ordered 6 bags on line and it was delivered with no issues. Enjoying my meals and happy again.
