Pizza with Artichokes

The artichokes will give this autumn pizza a delicious and unique taste.

Nice to know:
Artichokes originally occur in Ethiopia, but nowadays, Italy is the biggest producer of this vegetable in the world. Artichokes are the flower buds of the thistle. This grey-green flower buds consist of a lot of small leafs that are fold around the base of the flower. The flower buds are picked before they start to bloom. If an artichoke continues to grow, the leafs will open and a beautiful purple flower appears. This flower is beautiful, but not edible anymore. Artichokes are mostly used as a side dish, especially in Mediterranean dishes. Artichokes are not only delicious with a distinct taste, they are also very beneficial for our health. Artichokes namely contain a lot of anti-oxidants.

Ingredients

Flour for Pizza
Puglia Olive Oil
2 el Cream cheese
Artichokes Alla Contadina
Shallot, thinly sliced
Fresh mix of mushrooms (optional)
Rucola
Parmesan cheese
Naturel Balsamic Glaze

Preparation

  1. Prepare the Farina per pizza according to package directions. Roll out the dough, place on a baking sheet and fold the edges. Sprinkle pizza dough with the Puglia Olive Oil, divide the olive oil evenly and coat the edges in particular.
  2. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese on the bottom. Top with shallots, mushrooms and Carciofi alla Contadina and sprinkle some extra Puglia Olive Oil over it.
  3. Divide the arugula and Parmesan cheese over the pizza and sprinkle with Mussini Balsamic Glaze Natural. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C for about 30 minutes.
